Tottenham Hotspur forward Emmanuel Adebayor has paid tribute to Jermain Defoe after the England striker played his last Premier League game at White Hart Lane.
Defoe will leave Spurs to join MLS franchise Toronto at the end of the month and, although he could still feature in Tottenham's home Europa League clash with Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk on February 27, the 31-year-old bid an emotional farewell to the home supporters following Sunday's 1-0 win over Everton.
After the game, goalscorer Adebayor took to Instagram to post two images (below). The one on the left shows the Togolese posing with his man-of-the-match award, while the other pictures him and Jan Vertonghen carrying Defoe off the pitch.
The images were accompanied by the message: "SEA, Blood, sweat and tears rewarded today. Call to battle with my homie JD for his farewell home game. @iamjermaindefoe #motivation #dedication #workhard #playhard #gym #Godisgood #Godisincontrol #homies #brotherhood #team228."
