Iker Casillas says that both teams have an equal chance of lifting the Euro 2012 title in Kiev tonight.

Iker Casillas has dismissed talk that Spain are favourites to be crowned Euro 2012 champions tonight.

The reigning champions will be looking to make history tonight in becoming the first team to win three major tournaments in a row when they take on Italy in Kiev.

The Real Madrid goalkeeper said that the game could go either way demonstrated by the Azzurri's semi-final triumph over Germany.

"We do not think we're the favourites," said Casillas. "Quite the contrary, both teams have an equal chance.

"Italy have a great team. For us, it was no surprise that they joined us here in the final. They showed their quality and reached the final with a great performance [against Germany]."

The two teams met in Gdansk for the opener to Group C of the competition, which ended in a 1-1 draw.
