Southampton have reportedly offered defender Toby Alderweireld a four-year contract after impressing for the Saints this season.
Ronald Koeman signed the Belgian centre-back on a season-long loan from Spanish champions Atletico Madrid in the summer.
He has established himself as a prominent figure in a Southampton defence that has conceded just 15 times in 20 Premier League outings this season.
According to The Mirror, Koeman, who talked up the prospect of a permanent deal on Saturday, has now offered him the chance to stay at St Mary's on a long-term basis.
The 25-year-old, who joined Atletico in 2013, is contracted to the Liga giants until 2017.
