Southampton captain Jose Fonte has extended his contract at St Mary's until 2018.
The Portugal defender, who joined from Crystal Palace in 2010, penned a three-year extension this afternoon.
The 31-year-old has started all of the Saints' eight Premier League outings in the 2015-16 campaign, and has missed just three matches in the previous two seasons.
His form under Ronald Koeman also won him international recognition after earning his debut for the Selecao last October, before going on to win six more caps.
The South Coast side, who sit ninth in the league table, host Leicester City on Saturday.
