Mauricio Pochettino hails dominant Southampton display

Southampton manager Mauricio Pochettino says that he is "very happy" with the performance from his team during their 1-0 win against Hull City.

Southampton manager Mauricio Pochettino has said that his team deserved to win their Premier League match against Hull City.

The Saints claimed a 1-0 victory at the KC Stadium thanks to Jose Fonte's second-half strike as they stretched their unbeaten run to eight games.

"We put in an amazing shift. We dominated the entire game from start to finish. We're very happy with the performance," BBC Sport quotes him as saying.

"The entire team always plays for each other. That's the Southampton way.

"It's very important we take it game by game. We focus on the next game ahead. Now we'll be focusing on the FA Cup game away at Sunderland which is an important match."

Southampton are currently eighth in the Premier League table.
