Alan Hutton withdraws from Scotland squad for World Cup qualifiers

The Scottish Football Association confirms on its Twitter account that Aston Villa right-back Alan Hutton has dropped out of the squad.

Aston Villa defender Alan Hutton has withdrawn from the Scotland squad for the World Cup qualifiers against Lithuania and Slovakia.

The Scottish Football Association confirmed on Monday through its Twitter account that the 31-year-old was out of the squad.

Hutton played 90 minutes of Villa's Championship defeat by Preston North End on Saturday, his first appearance since August 10.

The withdrawal leaves Hearts man Callum Paterson as the only regular right-back in the squad, with no replacement for Hutton named as of yet.
