Raul insists that he is going to fulfil his contract at Schalke despite interest from Blackburn Rovers.

Spanish forward Raul has ruled out a move away from Schalke, dampening interest from Blackburn Rovers.

Earlier this week, Rovers boss Steve Kean refused to rule out a move for the former Real Madrid player.

His current contract will keep him at the Gelsenkirchen arena until the end of this season.

"I will be staying definitely at Schalke and I will fulfil my contract," the 34-year-old told the club's website.

"I do not get tired of saying it again and again that I feel at home with Schalke.

"The affection the fans here have shown me is extraordinary and memorable."

Blackburn have had a poor start to the season, currently lying at the bottom of the Premier League on goal difference.
