Two goals in as many minutes from Pedro Morales helped Vancouver Whitecaps to victory over the San Jose Earthquakes.
The Canadians were ahead inside 10 minutes when Kekuta Manneh rifled home a rasping shot that proved too much for keeper Jon Busch.
Vancouver were given the chance to double their lead when Darren Mattocks was fouled in the penalty area by Victor Bernardez, with Morales converting the subsequent spot kick.
Within moments, the Whitecaps had put the result beyond doubt when Manneh set up Morales, who calmly tucked home his second.
The Earthquakes did pull a goal back in first half stoppage time through Chris Wondolowski to give the visitors hope.
However, by the time he netted a second in second half injury time, the game was all but gone and Vancouver held on for a victory that lifts them into mid-table in the Western Conference.
