Steve Evans has ruled out Rotherham United signing midfielder Joey Barton.
The 32-year-old is currently unattached after leaving Queens Park Rangers in May, and came close to signing for West Ham United earlier this month.
"I don't think we could afford Joey's petrol, never mind Joey," Evans told BBC Sport.
"Our problem would be funding Joey's Ferrari or whatever he's driving to Rotherham from where he lives. I think he's an outstanding footballer - when I saw West Ham linked with him I thought he'd be signing.
"If Joey Barton wants to come play for Rotherham United, give me a ring, Joey."
Barton is reportedly holding talks with Nottingham Forest.
