Roma have confirmed that veteran striker Francesco Totti will be offered a new contract.
The 36-year-old has been linked with a move to Major League Soccer, but club president James Pallotta has confirmed that he wants to keep the player.
"We are going to talk to Francesco about a new deal," he told reporters. "We want to build his future with Roma for the coming years".
Moreover, Totti has insisted that he wants to remain at the Stadio Olimpico and compete at the highest level.
"I'm focused solely on Roma. The club is trying to put together a squad that can compete at a high level," he said.
"You win titles with strong players. We hope to compete at the highest level in Europe soon."
Totti made his Roma debut back in 1992 and has made almost 700 appearances for the club.
