Juventus will reportedly move for Real Madrid midfielder Xabi Alonso should Andrea Pirlo leave Turin at the end of the season.
Both players will be out of contract at their respective clubs next summer, with a number of European teams monitoring developments at both camps.
Pirlo has been linked with a move to Madrid, which could see Juventus target Alonso as the Italian's replacement, according to Corriere della Sera.
The same report has claimed that Alonso is keen on a move to Italy as he attempts to explore different options at the end of the season.
It is widely expected that Alonso, 31, will end his career at former club Real Sociedad.
