Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain are on high alert as Cristiano Ronaldo's summer exit from Real Madrid has been green-lighted, according to reports.

Real Madrid are reportedly willing to sell Cristiano Ronaldo - but only if they recoup the £80m spent on him in 2009.

Ronaldo, 30, has been linked with a summer exit following a six-year stint in Madrid, with former club Manchester United said to be vying with Paris Saint-Germain for his signature.

The Portuguese star is said to be seeking a new challenge and, according to The Sun, his suitors are on high alert as the Blancos declare themselves open to offers.

He joined Real for a world-record £80m from United, and president Florentino Perez is reluctant to let go of his prized asset unless they recoup that sum.

Ronaldo is the Spanish club's leading goalscorer of all time after eclipsing Raul's haul of 323 in September. He reached the feat after just 310 appearances.
