Kylian Mbappe, who is allegedly on the brink of signing for Real Madrid, has revealed he is open to signing for a Serie A club in the future.

Kylian Mbappe has revealed that he would be open to signing for a specific Italian club if an opportunity arises in the future.

The 2018 World Cup winner has just officially ended his time at Paris Saint-Germain, scoring 256 goals and contributing 108 assists from 308 appearances.

Although there is yet to be any official confirmation, the France international is believed to be on the brink of signing for Real Madrid on a free transfer.

Los Blancos will inevitably hand the 25-year-old a long-term contract at the Santiago Bernabeu, one which will include an unattainable release clause in today's market.

Taking such a stance will effectively keep Mbappe at the La Liga champions for the next few years, barring any unforeseen circumstances.

In just four years time, Mbappe will be turning 30 years of age, his valuation likely to have substantially decreased by that point depending on the state of finances in football in the future.

Mbappe reveals Serie A interest

For a transfer to materialise, it may take compromises from Real and Mbappe, but the attacker has said that he would be open to signing for AC Milan.

During the saga over his next move, the Premier League was regarded as the most likely alternative destination, yet it appears Italy is next on Mbappe's list of preferences.

Speaking in an interview with Sky Sport Italia, Mbappe said: "When I was a kid, I was a fan of Milan, and I always said that if one day I come to Italy, I am going to play at Milan.

"So we never know what can happen, but I always watch the Italian league - every game of Milan. Since I was a young kid, I was with a family close to mine, they are big Milan fans, and I was always there as a kid in their house to watch Milan's games.

"So now I keep watching the games, but we never know what can happen."

Is a future transfer realistic?

Much will depend on whether Mbappe is settled in Madrid in the long term. His primary desire right now is to end his wait for a Champions League trophy.

Real Madrid is the best place to achieve that goal, yet there are a number of other attackers at the club that means starting every week will not be a foregone conclusion in the future.

Endrick will join the likes of Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo ahead of 2024-25, likely playing a bit-part role behind that pair and Mbappe.

At some point, though, the Brazilian teenager will expect to start as regularly as the other established worldwide stars.

From Milan's perspective, they will require regular appearances in the Champions League - from both a footballing and financial perspective - to have any chance of signing Mbappe in the future.
