Former Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti has insisted that the club will be powerless to stopping Lautaro Martinez leaving for Barcelona this summer.
Barca are said to be desperate to freshen up their frontline with the addition of Martinez, who has scored 16 goals in 28 Serie A and Champions League matches this season.
The Argentina international is also believed to be a target for Real Madrid, despite Inter refusing to budge on their asking price of €111m (£99.7m).
However, Moratti knows the club well and believes that Martinez will leave the Nerazzurri later this year if he pushes for a move.
"You can't hold someone who has the idea of being somewhere else," he told Sportmediaset.
"That would put him in a position to remain involuntarily or, in any case with a different impulse, in the same place."
Inter have reportedly already lined up Arsenal's Alexandre Lacazette as a replacement for Martinez.
