Real Madrid reportedly seek extensive information regarding Neymar's injury woes as they look to bring the wantaway Brazilian back to Spain before the end of the window.

Real Madrid are reportedly investigating Neymar's injury record as they look to press ahead with signing the Brazilian superstar.

The 27-year-old has persistently struggled with injuries throughout his time at Paris Saint-Germain, having suffered problems with his foot, ankle, metatarsal, thigh and abductor.

A leg injury picked up in a pre-tournament friendly against Qatar caused Neymar to miss the entirety of the Copa America in June.

According to Marca, the Madrid hierarchy have gathered as much information as they can and are confident of sealing the player's signature, despite PSG demanding £228m for the Brazilian.

Real Madrid are understood to be able afford this enormous fee, particularly as they anticipate that Neymar would bring in £24m per year in brand sponsorship.

Another factor is that Real Madrid would own 50% of the player's image rights, which could cover a chunk of his salary.

The total wage bill of a club cannot exceed 70% of their operating income and, while Barcelona find themselves at 77%, Real Madrid are at 57%, putting them in the driving seat to sign Neymar this summer.
