Real Madrid coach Paul Clement 'not interested' in taking over at QPR

Real Madrid coach Paul Clement rules out becoming the next Queens Park Rangers manager because he wants to stay with the Spanish club.

Real Madrid assistant boss Paul Clement has insisted that he has "no intention" of leaving the Bernabeu for the vacant manager's job at Queens Park Rangers.

The 43-year-old, who became part of Carlo Ancelotti's staff at Madrid following the Italian's appointment in 2013, was thought to be on a three-man shortlist to replace Harry Redknapp at Loftus Road.

While Clement has expressed a desire to one day manage QPR - the club he supported growing up and also where his father Dave played - the coach is satisfied with life in Spain.

Clement told The Guardian: "I'm very flattered to be linked with Queens Park Rangers, a club I supported as a young boy and for whom my Dad played.

"It would be a real honour to manage that club at some point in the future. But, at this time, I've got no intention of leaving Real Madrid in mid-season."

Clement has also coached alongside Ancelotti at Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain.
