Reading and Bolton Wanderers played out a goalless draw at the Madejski Stadium as neither side were able to break the deadlock in 90 minutes.
The Royals had the best chance of the first half as Jake Cooper's header caused a goal-mouth scramble, with Glenn Murray failing to hit the target and put the home side ahead.
The ball was put in the back of the net a minute after the restart, as Cooper and Murray linked up again; a header down was tucked away but was ruled out for offside.
Cooper was once again involved in a chance for Reading, when his header was smartly saved by Andy Lonergan but wasn't out of danger. The ball was then cleared off the line and Cooper headed the rebound over.
Bolton mounted pressure on the home side in the final 10 minutes but none of their chances tested Reading.
The result keeps Reading in 14th position and the point moves Wanderers up to 17th.
