Steve Clarke has admitted that he found Reading's defeat to Derby County tough to take.
The Royals saw their five-game unbeaten run come to an end when Tom Ince struck to earn the visitors a 1-0 win at the Madejski Stadium on Tuesday night.
Having put five past Ipswich Town in their previous outing, Clarke confessed to being left "devastated" by his side's first home defeat of the campaign, which leaves them down in 11th place in the Championship table.
"We made a mistake, we went down to 10 men and it's cost us dearly," he is quoted as saying by The Reading Chronicle. "I'm devastated with the result because we've been on a really good run. When your run ends, you want it to end in the right way - it didn't."
Reading have a chance to bounce back this weekend when taking on Bristol City at Ashton Gate.
