Rangers announce Philippe Senderos signing

Rangers announce that former Arsenal and Aston Villa defender Philippe Senderos has signed a one-year contract with the club.

Defender Philippe Senderos has signed a one-year deal with Scottish giants Rangers.

The 31-year-old has been linked with a transfer to Ibrox since the start of the month and it has now been confirmed that he will spend the season in Glasgow.

The Switzerland international has experience of British football with both Arsenal and Aston Villa, but he ended the last campaign at Grasshoppers Zurich where he made 14 appearances from the end of January.

Having completed a successful trial period for Mark Warburton's team, he is expected to be in contention for the Old Firm derby with Celtic, which takes place immediately after the international break.
