Scottish Championship roundup: Rangers hammer Dumbarton 4-1 at Ibrox

Sports Mole rounds up Saturday's Scottish Championship action as Rangers hammer Dumbarton 4-1 at Ibrox.

Rangers hammered Dumbarton 4-1 at Ibrox to keep the away side at the foot of the Scottish Championship this afternoon.

Rangers skipper Lee McCulloch opened the scoring after 15 minutes and the home side were eventually 4-0 up after goals from Darren McGregor and Nicky Clark either side of half time. A Chris Turner own goal rounded things off to clinch all three points. The away side pulled one back through Bilel Mohsni's own goal with nine minutes remaining but it wasn't enough to affect the match.

Hearts beat Raith Rovers 3-0 to go top of the league with a James Keatings hat-trick. Keatings opened the scoring after 13 minutes and then doubled his tally with a strike from distance to make it 2-0 on the 28th minute. The hat-trick was completed after 58 minutes before Gary Oliver made it four to earn the away side all three points and top the table.

Queen of the South shared the spoils with Livingston after taking the lead through Kyle Jacobs's own goal 10 minutes before half time. Livingstone then levelled through a penalty as James White converted from the spot on the 66th minute. James Fowler was shown red for the home side after showing unsporting behaviour as the match entered the final 15 minutes but both sides were happy to take a point apiece.

Rory Loy gave Falkirk a valuable win against Hibernian with his 15th-minute strike.

Alloa saw off Cowdenbeath comfortably after taking the lead through Kevin Cawley's 38th-minute goal moments before the half-time whistle. Greig Spence doubled the away side's lead immediately into the second half, before Liam Buchanan put the game to bed just minutes later with the third goal of the game as Cowdenbeath slip into the relegation zone.
