Harry Redknapp has revealed that he is waiting on the fitness of a number of players ahead of Queens Park Rangers' match against Manchester United this weekend.

The Hoops will travel to Old Trafford to face Louis van Gaal's side on Sunday, looking for back-to-back wins in the Premier League.

Good morning! It's just over 24 hours until the Premier League is back in action after a two-week break for the latest round of internationals. Queens Park Rangers don't play until Sunday though, and face a tricky tie at Old Trafford against Louis van Gaal's Manchester United side. The QPR manager will be speaking to reporters in around quarter of an hour.

QPR have acquired a couple of new faces since they last played. The club had a busy finish to the transfer window, bringing in Sandro, Niko Kranjcar and Alex McCarthy just before the deadline.

In his last pre-match press conference, Redknapp revealed that he was on the verge of signing a contract extension at Loftus Road. During the break, there's been no news of the manager putting pen to paper, but it is still thought that a new deal is close.

QPR head into this match on the back of a win against Sunderland, who held this weekend's opponents to a draw earlier in the season. However, prior to that victory, QPR had lost their last four matches in a row. Man Utd have been in patchy form since the start of the season, with two defeats and two draws since the start of the Premier League season.

It seems likely that QPR will have the dubious honour of being the first side to face Radamel Falcao since his arrival at Old Trafford. The Monaco striker, who is on a season-long loan with Manchester United, was officially unveiled yesterday, with manager Louis van Gaal confirming that the Colombian's work permit and visa were in order. Summer signings Daley Blind and Marcos Rojo could also be involved for the hosts.

Ahead of Redknapp's press conference, QPR captain Clint Hill has been addressing the media. The defender told reporters: "Man Utd are certainly in a better place than they were a few weeks ago. It's up to us to frustrate them. We're the underdogs, like we will be for most of the season. But we must give a good account of ourselves. We're looking forward to it, these are the games that you look for when the fixture list first comes out."

QPR have, potentially, a kinder run of fixtures over the next few weeks, facing Stoke City, Southampton and West Ham United in their next three outings. However, that will be followed by a difficult run, facing last season's Premier League top three in the space of four weeks.

Many players in the Premier League and Football League will be wearing rainbow-patterned showlaces as part of a campaign to tackle homophobia in football. QPR midfielder Joey Barton spoke of his support for the campaign earlier this week.

With Hill also speaking to the media this morning, it looks like Redknapp's press conference has been slightly delayed. While we're waiting to hear from the manager, why not check out our stats centre, which shows that QPR have been the joint-least attacking side in the opening three matches of the season, alongside Burnley.

During his press conference, Hill also revealed that new signing Sandro, who joined QPR from Tottenham, has "fitted in well" since completing his move at the end of the transfer window.

Ahead of this weekend's round of fixtures, QPR sit 12th in the table, level on points with West Ham, who sit just above them on goal difference. A win this weekend could lift them as high as fourth in the table, depending on other results.

Redknapp is now in his seat ready to answer the media's questions, so let's see what he has to say...

Redknapp starts with some injury news, as he reveals that the team have a couple of players carrying minor injuries. Among them is Joey Barton, who Redknapp says will need to undergo an assessment tomorrow after picking up a hamstring injury.

Just before the international break, it was revealed that Alejandro Faurlin had sustained another ACL injury. The manager tells reporters: "[Faurlin] has had his op. I'm sure he will come back stronger. No one will work harder than him, for sure."

Turning his attention to Sunday's opponents, Redknapp says: "Manchester United have got a formidable front line, it will be interesting to see how they gel. They've got a top, top team now. We've got to go up there and make sure we work hard and give them a really good game. We'll be ready for it."

Before their win against Sunderland last time out, QPR were thrashed by Tottenham. Redknapp reveals that he is pleased with the way his team bounced back: "We let ourselves down at Spurs, we stood off them. But I was delighted with the response versus Sunderland."

Having completed several signings at the end of the transfer window, the manager says: " The owners have done some great business in the transfer widow. They've supported me and I'm very grateful for that."

However, on the subject of the Financial Fair Play rules, Redknapp quips: "What'd be fair is us being able to spend as much as Manchester United before Sunday."

Ahead of Rio Ferdinand's return to his former club, Redknapp has insisted that the defender will not be affected by his return to Old Trafford: "Rio will go and play his normal game, he won't let going back to Old Trafford affect him. He's been excellent."

Sandro could make his debut for QPR this weekend, and Redknapp insists that he has impressed since completing the move across London: "Sandro has been excellent. I was delighted to bring him here. I can't wait to get him into the team. Sandro will add to the experience we've got here, I think he'll be a massive influence on the team."

Looking once again at the prospect of the trip to Old Trafford, Redknapp tells the media: "It's up to us to go to Old Trafford and enjoy the game, give everything we've got, it's a great game to be involved in."

And with that, Redknapp makes his exit from the conference room. Join us again on Sunday afternoon when we'll have team news ahead of kickoff, and live coverage from an hour before kickoff, as well as reaction and analysis following the game. Until then, thanks for joining me this morning, goodbye.
