Luis Fernandez says that Zlatan Ibrahimovic should show more "respect" towards the Paris Saint-Germain supporters and French football.

Former Paris Saint-Germain coach Luis Fernandez has hit out at Zlatan Ibrahimovic for criticising the club's fans.

The Swedish striker claimed this week that before this season, PSG were "nothing", adding that the supporters are "very demanding".

"He needs to show a bit of humility, a bit of respect," Fernandez told RMC radio. "He says what he wants, but maybe he doesn't know the history of French football.

"We have been world champions, Marseille have been European champions. PSG have won a European trophy too. The most important thing is to respect the history of the club.

"Zlatan is disappointed at being booed, but everyone has been booed in that stadium, even me. The fans pay to see a spectacle and they certainly expect a bit more than what they are getting."

PSG are currently four points clear at the top of Ligue 1.
