Half-Time Report: Zlatan Ibrahimovic double gives Paris Saint-Germain lead over Marseille

Two penalties from Zlatan Ibrahimovic give Paris Saint-Germain a 2-1 lead over Marseille, after Michy Batshuayi opens the scoring for the visitors in their Ligue 1 clash.

Two penalties from Zlatan Ibrahimovic have given Paris Saint-Germain a 2-1 lead over Marseille, after Michy Batshuayi had opened the scoring for the visitors this evening.

The visitors started the match the brighter of the two sides, as Batshuayi twice tested PSG keeper Kevin Trapp, who stopped both efforts fairly comfortably.

Ibrahimovic forced a save from Marseille keeper Steve Mandanda from 25 yards, before Edinson Cavani fed the veteran Swede for an effort on goal, but the stop was simple for Mandanda.

PSG grew into the game after 20 minutes, as Ibrahimovic forced a good save from Mandanda with a fierce strike from inside the Marseille box, before Angel di Maria cut in from the right flank to fire narrowly wide.

Marseille took the lead on 30 minutes, as Abdel Barrada clipped an inviting pass into the box beyond PSG defender David Luiz, before Batshuayi slid in at the far post for a simple finish.

The hosts were awarded their first penalty of the evening when Mandanda brought down Ibrahimovic in the box, and the Swedish international sent the Frenchman the wrong way to equalise on 41 minutes.

PSG won another penalty before half time, as Marseille defender Rolando was deemed to have handled the ball following a corner. Ibrahimovic took his second spot kick of the night, and fired past Mandanda again to give his side the lead.
