Anthony Williams named Portsmouth assistant manager

Anthony Williams is appointed as Richie Barker's assistant manager at Portsmouth.

Anthony Williams has been named as Portsmouth's new assistant manager and goalkeeping coach.

The 36-year-old worked with current boss Richie Barker at Crawley Town and joins the League Two club following the departures of Steve Allen and David Coles.

"We are delighted to have Anthony on board, but we are also sorry to see both Steve and Dave go," chief executive Mark Catlin told Pompey's official website. "They have both given the club good service and we wish them well for the future."

Portsmouth, who are currently in 18th place in the table, travel to Bristol Rovers on Saturday.
