Nottingham Forest manager Dougie Freedman has confirmed that the club rejected a bid from Derby County for Michail Antonio.
The future of the 25-year-old winger is in doubt after he was linked with a move to the Premier League earlier this summer.
It has now been revealed that Antonio was the subject of a bid from Forest's rivals Derby County, which was believed to be worth close to £4m, and Freedman is hopeful of keeping him at the City Ground.
"We got a bid which we rejected, which we have the right to do," Freedman told BBC Radio Nottingham after leaving Antonio out of the squad for Tuesday's goalless draw with Charlton Athletic.
"We have been speaking to Michail and did not think he was in the right frame of mind to play a game of football."
Antonio has scored three goals in three appearances this season.
