A report says that Norwich City want to sign Maxi Lopez, who once played for Spanish champions Barcelona.

Premier League outfit Norwich City have reportedly emerged as contenders to sign Catania striker Maxi Lopez.

The former Barcelona frontman joined his current employers in 2010, but he hasn't always been first choice and has spent time on loan with both AC Milan and Sampdoria in recent months.

Norwich manager Chris Hughton is keen to add another striker to his squad and having missed out on a couple of other targets, he has decided to pursue Lopez, according to talkSPORT.

The report added that Norwich are prepared to offer the 29-year-old a three-year contract at Carrow Road.
