Norwich City manager Chris Hughton says that he is pleased with his team's clean sheet against Stoke City this afternoon.

Norwich City manager Chris Hughton has said that he is "delighted" with his team's hard-fought 1-0 victory over Stoke City.

Bradley Johnson scored the only goal of the game to secure all three points for the Canaries, lifting them into 14th in the Premier League.

Hughton revealed that the most pleasing aspect of today's win was keeping a clean sheet, despite having two of his regular back four missing through injury.

"It's satisfying," said Hughton. "It was a real tough game, and irrespective of whether you play Stoke home or away, they are a team of quality.

"Stoke play a very effective style of football that is difficult to deal with. For me, the most pleasing thing is the clean sheet. To change the defence with injuries to [Michael] Turner and [Javier] Garrido was a blow, and it disrupted the back four, but for my players to get the clean sheet was great.

"You have to be fortunate at times that the ball bounces in the right place and you've got to make sure you defend well and stop the supply against Stoke. We could have made life easier for ourselves because we had a couple of chances but I'm delighted."

Norwich travel to the Madejski Stadium next week to play Reading.
