Alex Neil: 'Norwich City have turned a corner with Manchester United scalp'

Norwich City manager Alex Neil believes that his side have "turned the corner" with their victory over Manchester United.

Norwich City manager Alex Neil has claimed that his side have "turned the corner" following their 2-1 victory over Manchester United last Saturday.

The Canaries picked up their first victory at Old Trafford since 1989 to record just their second win in 12 Premier League games, although they have taken points from the likes of Liverpool, Everton and Arsenal, and only narrowly lost to Manchester City and Chelsea in that time.

Neil believes that his side were "unlucky" not to have claimed a major scalp earlier than last weekend, but hopes that the win over United will act as a platform from which they can build a survival push.

"I think it's important we seemed to have turned the corner a bit. I think performances have always been stable but it's about winning points," he told reporters.

"We have shown more than enough now against the bigger teams to show others we can win in this league. We have been unlucky that we haven't got [a win like this] sooner.

"I think in the Man City game we played really well and I was hoping we could get something from that game but unfortunately we made a few errors that cost us."

Norwich take on Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane on Boxing Day.
