Michel Platini won't challenge Sepp Blatter for FIFA presidency

UEFA president Michel Platini decides not to run against Sepp Blatter for the FIFA presidency.

UEFA chief Michel Platini has confirmed his decision not to run against Sepp Blatter for the FIFA presidency next year.

The Frenchman, who previously claimed that FIFA needs a "breath of fresh air", revealed his intentions regarding the 2015 elections to 54 European associations in Monaco this morning.

Numerous officials within the game are believed to be keen on someone replacing Blatter as head of the world football governing body due to previous allegations of corruption.

While there were suggestions that Platini would run for the position, the 59-year-old has told member nations today that he will not challenge Blatter.

Platini is said to have stated that he wants to continue as UEFA president.
