Newcastle's Alan Pardew "not worried" about possible Fabricio Coloccini exit

Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew says that he is "not worried" about Fabricio Coloccini's future at St James' Park.

Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew has insisted that he has not received any indication that captain Fabricio Coloccini wants to leave the club in the summer.

The 32-year-old admitted that he wanted to return to his homeland of Argentina in January due to personal reasons.

The defender has remained at St James' Park, but Pardew has revealed that he will hold talks with the skipper when the season comes to a close.

"I'm not worried about it at this stage, but obviously it is a conversation that I will have with Colo and we will pick the right decision for the club," FourFourTwo quotes Coloccini as saying.

"What might be right for him might not be right for the club, but I am hoping we both make the same decision because I want him to stay.

"He is an essential part of this team, one of my most important players. I don't see anything to give me cause for alarm, if I am honest. His mentality for the game will never change."

Coloccini's current contract expires in June 2016.
