Newcastle United boss John Carver not thinking about relegation

Newcastle United boss John Carver says he is not thinking about the threat of relegation from the Premier League.

Newcastle United head coach John Carver has insisted that he is not thinking about the threat of relegation, despite his side suffering seven defeats in a row.

The Magpies latest reverse came at the hands of Swansea City, who left St James' Park with a 3-2 victory on Saturday to pile the pressure on Carver and his side.

Newcastle are 15th in the Premier League table, five points clear of the bottom three with four games left to play.

When asked if he was worried about going down, Carver told the Shields Gazette: "I'm not even thinking about that.

"I'm not thinking about that disaster – let's make that clear. Get that out of the back of our minds. It's not even worth thinking about of commenting on. All I am thinking about is Leicester."

Newcastle travel to Leicester City on Saturday.
