Swansea City come from behind to beat Newcastle United

Newcastle United fall deeper into a relegation crisis as they suffer a 3-2 defeat against Swansea City.

Newcastle United slumped to their seventh straight Premier League defeat with a 3-2 home loss to Swansea City.

Newcastle almost took the lead against the run of play as Perez headed Vurnon Anita's cross marginally wide on their first serious attack.

Swansea hit back with a header of their own, as Ashley Williams missed from just six yards out from a Nathan Dyer corner.

They were made to pay as Perez gave the Magpies the lead shortly after as Emmanuel Riviere darted down the left-hand side and crossed for the striker to convert from close range.

The Welsh side went in search of an equaliser and came close through a Federico Fernandez header, before Jefferson Montero sliced an effort horribly wide.

They found the back of the net at the end of the half as Nelson Oliveira headed in from a corner, and then took the lead at the beginning of the second period through Gylfi Sigurdsson, who converted Montero's low cross.

Newcastle failed to respond and Swansea added a third with 20 minutes left as Jack Cork tapped the ball in from close range.

The hosts did get a second with minutes remaining as Siem de Jong marked his comeback from injury with a neat volley, but it was not enough as the home fans witnessed another disappointing result.
