Newcastle United boss Steve McClaren: 'I have a tough job on my hands'

Newcastle United manager Steve McClaren admits that he has a "hard job" on his hands at the Magpies.

Newcastle United manager Steve McClaren has admitted that he has a "tough job" on his hands following his side's latest defeat, a 2-1 home reverse against Watford.

The Magpies boss drew positives from his side's second-half display against the Hornets, but is under no illusions about the size of the task at hand.

"I got a reaction from my players in the second half and we had enough opportunities. The difference, as it was on Monday against West Ham, was that Watford put the ball back of the net," BBC Sport quotes him as saying.

"No-one said this job was going to be easy, we didn't think it would be. I thought the last two games would be a test for us and we would know a lot more and we know now this is a tough job, a hard job."

The result leaves Newcastle in 19th place in the table, without a win this term.
