Newcastle United boss Steve McClaren could receive a team selection boost in the next few weeks as Paul Dummett is reportedly progressing well in his recovery from a hamstring injury.
The 23-year-old, who has been struggling with an injury since May, was rumoured to have suffered a setback at the start of the month.
However, according to The Chronicle, Dummett is edging closer towards fitness and could be available for selection at St James' Park in the coming weeks.
The report adds that this weekend's Premier League match against Watford could come too soon for Dummett, but the defender is targeting Wales's final two Euro 2016 qualifiers in October.
