Stoke City midfielder Charlie Adam has insisted that reports linking Peter Crouch with a move to Australia are wide of the mark.
The former England striker is said to be wanted by A-League side Newcastle Jets for next season, with their chairman Nathan Tinkler revealing that he is trying to convince the 34-year-old to join them.
Adam says that the Jets can forget about trying to lure Crouch away from the Britannia Stadium.
"The big man has done brilliant for us and just signed a new contract so I think that is just people trying to get a story out of something that is not there," he told talkSPORT.
"He is a big name and that is what they want in Australia and the MLS, but the big man has just signed a new two-year contract so he will be with us next year."
Crouch has spent four years at Stoke.
