Luton Town moved into the third automatic promotion spot courtesy of a comfortable 3-1 win over Dagenham & Redbridge, while Jack Redshaw's equaliser deep into injury time against York City moves Morecambe into a playoff position.
At the other of the table, Tranmere Rovers earned a precious point with a 0-0 draw against Mansfield Town but remain bottom, and Hartlepool United slip into the drop zone after going down 3-1 at Accrington Stanley.
Elsewhere, two goals in two minutes from Danny Hylton and a strike from Alfie Potter gave Oxford United a 3-1 win over Northampton Town that moves Michael Appleton's side away from danger.
Portsmouth recorded their first league win in six games in a five-goal thriller against Stevenage, and a late Mark Byrne goal gave Newport County three points that moves them up to eighth.
Cheltenham Town climbed to ninth as a Matthew Richards strike and a Josh Coulson own goal gave them a 2-1 win over Cambridge United, while AFC Wimbledon's clash with Plymouth Argyle finished goalless.
