Manchester United are reportedly so keen to take up the option of signing Radamel Falcao on a permanent deal that they are looking to get a transfer complete this month.
The 28-year-old made a slow start to life at Old Trafford as he battled to recover from a number of niggling injury issues, although he is said to have impressed manager Louis van Gaal over the past month following his return to more regular action.
Spanish publication Marca claims that the Monaco loanee could now seal a long-term switch to the Premier League outfit this month in a move worth around £44m.
It is suggested that the proposed deal has been given the green light by Van Gaal, with Monaco chiefs meeting up with the striker's agent Jorge Mendes to set the wheels in motion.
Falcao has made 11 appearances for United - the majority of which have come from the bench - scoring on two occasions.
