Wesley Sneijder: 'I won't leave Galatasaray for Manchester United'

Galatasaray midfielder Wesley Sneijder rules out the prospect of being reunited with Louis van Gaal at Manchester United.

Wesley Sneijder has admitted that while he is flattered to be linked with a move to Manchester United, he will not leave Galatasaray to join Louis van Gaal's side.

The Netherlands international, who worked with Van Gaal during his stint in charge of the national team, has been linked with a move to Old Trafford since the Dutchman took charge this summer.

However, with United boasting an array of attacking midfield options, Sneijder has said that he would not be tempted to leave Turkey.

"It is great to hear that Van Gaal is interested in me, he is a footballing genius," the 30-year-old told Turkish sports newspaper AMK.

"However I doubt Manchester United could tempt me to leave Galatasaray right now, I don't see it happening. Everything is going well for me in Istanbul and I have settled into life in Turkey and feel at home.

"I don't even know why we keep talking about this. Galatasaray will not be letting me go for a cheap price. It is very unlikely that any deal will happen."

Sneijder joined Galatasaray from Inter Milan in January 2013.
