Real Madrid are reportedly pessimistic about their chances of signing Borussia Dortmund forward Erling Braut Haaland.
A release clause in the Norway international's contract will lead to a hotly-disputed race for his signature during the summer transfer window.
Real are one of many teams who have been consistently linked with the 21-year-old and are expected to make an official approach during 2022.
However, according to journalist Josep Pedrerol, Los Blancos feel that they will ultimately lose out to a team from the Premier League.
Writing on Twitter, Pedrerol said: "Real Madrid assumes that Haaland will play in England next year and they have it ruled out."
Chelsea, Manchester City, Liverpool and Manchester United have all been linked with Haaland over the past 12 months.
The frontman, who is currently sidelined through injury, has scored 13 goals from 10 games this campaign.
