Paris Saint-Germain are firmly in the race to sign Chelsea centre-back Antonio Rudiger, according to a report.

Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly in a strong position to sign Chelsea centre-back Antonio Rudiger.

The Germany international's contract at Stamford Bridge is due to expire next June, and a number of clubs continue to be credited with an interest in his services.

Real Madrid are believed to be at the head of the queue for the 28-year-old, while Manchester United are believed to have emerged as candidates for his signature.

However, according to Bild, PSG are also well placed to secure the defender's signature, with his agent already holding talks with the French outfit's sporting director Leonardo.

Chelsea are allegedly still hoping to come to an agreement with the German over a new contract, but they cannot match the wages that are reportedly being offered elsewhere.

Rudiger has again been a vital player for the Blues during the 2021-22 campaign, scoring twice and providing four assists in 21 appearances in all competitions.

The former Borussia Dortmund youngster has made 170 appearances for Chelsea since arriving from Roma in 2017, contributing nine goals and seven assists in the process.
