Manchester United are reportedly 'still very interested' in Bayern Munich midfielder Leon Goretzka.

Manchester United are reportedly 'still very interested' in Leon Goretzka despite contract talks between the midfielder and Bayern Munich accelerating in recent days.

The Germany international's current deal at Allianz Arena is due to expire next June, and it is believed that discussions over a new contract stalled towards the end of last month.

According to Bild journalist Tobi Altschaffl, talks between the two parties have now resumed and are heading in the right direction, as Bayern attempt to sign the 26-year-old to an extension.

However, Altschaffl claims that the 20-time English champions remain 'very interested' in Goretzka and will continue to keep a close eye on the developments.

The German enjoyed an impressive 2020-21 campaign for his Bundesliga club, scoring eight times and contributing nine assists in 32 appearances in all competitions.

Barcelona and Real Madrid have also been linked with the former VfL Bochim youngster, who made three appearances for his country at this summer's European Championship.
