Manchester United open to selling Wayne Rooney if they qualify for Champions League?

Manchester United will reportedly allow Wayne Rooney to leave the club if they qualify for the Champions League by the end of the season.

Manchester United are reportedly open to letting striker Wayne Rooney leave the club if they qualify for the Champions League by the end of the season.

The England international's future was in doubt over the summer following two bids from Chelsea, which were swiftly rejected by the North-West outfit.

Despite Rooney staying put at Old Trafford, questions over his future have cropped up once more due to the club's current form in the Premier League, which has left them 14 points adrift of leaders Arsenal.

United will allow Rooney to go if they make the top four, but if they end up competing in the Europa League next season, then the club will keep hold of him, according to the Daily Star.

Rooney's contract runs out in 2015.
