Manchester United will complete a move for Atletico Madrid defender Kieran Trippier before this summer's transfer window closes, according to journalist Dean Jones.
The Red Devils continue to be credited with an interest in the England international, who has seemingly been identified by the club as the ideal player to challenge Aaron Wan-Bissaka for the right-back spot.
Man United are currently finalising a deal for Raphael Varane and are also thought to be eyeing a central midfielder, but Eurosport's Jones is of the opinion that Trippier will be making the move to Old Trafford.
"I honestly think this deal will be done," the journalist told The Football Terrace podcast. "Trippier is confident that Atletico Madrid are working on finding a replacement for him and as soon as they are far enough down the road that that's been clinched he should be able to negotiate with United.
"So it's just about patience really, it was never a priority for United to get this deal done."
The 30-year-old has provided 11 assists in 68 appearances for Atletico since joining the La Liga champions from Tottenham Hotspur in 2019.
Trippier's existing deal at Wanda Metropolitano is due to expire in the summer of 2023.
