Manchester United make Mehdi Benatia top transfer target?

Manchester United manager David Moyes is reportedly keen to sign Roma centre-back Mehdi Benatia this summer.

Manchester United manager David Moyes is reportedly keen to sign Roma centre-back Mehdi Benatia this summer.

The Red Devils will lose star defender Nemanja Vidic at the end of the season, while Rio Ferdinand and Patrice Evra are also likely to leave Old Trafford.

As a result, United are eyeing up reinforcements for their backline and, according to the Daily Express, Moyes has made landing Benatia, 26, his top priority.

Morocco international Benatia, who joined Roma from Udinese in an £11m deal less than 12 months ago, is also understood to have attracted the attention of Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal.
