Manchester United 'decide to spend £80m on Harry Maguire'

Manchester United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward is reportedly prepared to sanction an £80m offer for Leicester City defender Harry Maguire.

The England international is believed to be a target for United and bitter rivals Manchester City, leading to Leicester upping his valuation.

Despite the hefty price tag, The Sun suggests that the Red Devils are now ready to push ahead with a bid that the Foxes are likely to accept.

Maguire, a Leicester player for the past two years, will apparently be given a five-year deal at Old Trafford worth £350,000 a week.

Should the transfer go through, the 26-year-old will surpass Liverpool's Virgil van Dijk as the most expensive defender in the world.
