Everton are said to be pursuing a deal for Manchester United defender Marcos Rojo before tonight's transfer deadline.

Everton have reportedly reignited interest in Manchester United defender Marcos Rojo in the final throes of the transfer window.

Red Devils boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is thought to be open to the idea of letting the 29-year-old leave Old Trafford following the big-money arrival of Harry Maguire last week.

Toffees boss Marco Silva was said to be keen on Rojo last summer, and according to the Daily Mail, the Argentine is now "back in his sights" as he looks to bring in a new defender before tonight's transfer deadline.

The newspaper says that Silva has concerns over the player's fitness, however, and would prefer to sign him on a loan deal with an option to buy further down the line.

Everton have already been knocked back with a loan offer for Rojo's teammate Chris Smalling this summer, while a move to bring back Kurt Zouma from Chelsea has also failed.

Rojo has two years remaining on his current contract with United and earns around £80,000 a week.
