Arsenal have reportedly entered the race to sign Borussia Dortmund defender Mats Hummels.
The German international produced a string of impressive displays as his country lifted the World Cup this summer.
He has been strongly linked with a move to Manchester United, but according to the Daily Mail, the Reds are yet to agree a fee with Dortmund and that has opened the door for Arsenal.
He is valued at £25m by his club and the Gunners could have the money available for the transfer following the sale of Thomas Vermaelen.
Hummels joined Dortmund on loan from Bayern Munich in 2008, before making the move permanent a year later.
