How Manchester United could line up against Tottenham Hotspur

Ahead of Wednesday's Premier League fixture between Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur, Sports Mole looks at how the home side could line up at Old Trafford.

Manchester United play host to Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday night on the back of two games without a win in the Premier League.

While Ole Gunnar Solskjaer would have been satisfied with a share of the spoils against Sheffield United, the Norwegian would have considered Sunday's 2-2 draw with Aston Villa as two points dropped.

United now sit in eighth position in the top-flight standings, eight points adrift of fourth-placed Chelsea and 22 points behind leaders Liverpool.

Here, Sports Mole predicts how the North-West outfit may line up against Jose Mourinho's team at Old Trafford.

Out: Eric Bailly (knee), Timothy Fosu-Mensah (knee), Diogo Dalot (groin),
Doubtful: Scott McTominay (ankle), Paul Pogba (ankle), Marcos Rojo (muscle), Nemanja Matic (groin)

Solskjaer has suggested that Scott McTominay could be ready to make his return from an ankle injury for the game on Wednesday night.

Jesse Lingard may also be in line to earn a recall to the starting lineup, with the pair potentially featuring in place of Andreas Pereira and Juan Mata.

However, due to a persistent ankle problem, Paul Pogba is likely to need a few more days on the training pitch before being considered for a spot in the 18-man squad.

Having made an appearance off the bench against Villa, Luke Shaw will hope to get the nod over academy graduate Brandon Williams at left-back.

However, Solskjaer may feel that the youngster has done enough to stay ahead of his more experienced teammate, who may be saved for Saturday's Manchester derby.
