Louis van Gaal believes that his summer signings will understand his philosophy "better" than the team which was in place when he arrived at Manchester United.
Ander Herrera and Luke Shaw were earmarked by the club before Van Gaal's appointment in May, but the Dutchman recruited Marcos Rojo, Angel di Maria, Daley Blind and Radamel Falcao.
Van Gaal also sanctioned the departures of numerous players, including Javier Hernandez, Danny Welbeck and Nani.
When asked in this afternoon's press conference if this will be a team more in his image than before, Van Gaal said: "I hope so because they have to perform our philosophy and that philosophy is not so easy to perform - we've seen it already, but I think the players that we have selected will do it better. Otherwise we don't need to buy those players."
Falcao and Blind could make their United debuts against Queens Park Rangers on Sunday.
