Paul Scholes on 'fast-track management course'

Manchester United legend Paul Scholes reportedly begins a "fast-track" course into management.

Manchester United legend Paul Scholes has reportedly begun a "fast-track course" ahead of a move into management.

The 42-year-old, who called time on his playing career in 2013 after 22 years with the Red Devils, is said to have begun his A licence at the Blackburn Rovers academy on Monday.

The scheme could allow him to be fully qualified as soon as the end of the season, The Sun reports, as he and some other elite players have been "given a special course shorter than the usual".

As Scholes has begun training for his badges, he is now free to take a job in management, with Wigan Athletic manager Warren Joyce keen to bring him in part-time.

A return to United as part of the youth setup is also an option, while Scholes has also been linked with helping new England manager Gareth Southgate in the national setup.
